Chirag P. Shah, MD, MPH, was a co-editor of the Wills Eye Manual, 5th edition, one of the all-time best-selling books in ophthalmology. He was also the recent Deputy Editor of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Online News and Education Network, a site that 110,000 ophthalmologists and other health care providers access every month. He is a lecturer at Harvard Medical School, where he teaches Financial Literacy 101 to medical students in a course that closely follows the content of The Financial Freedom Rx. He is also an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and the co-director of the vitreoretinal surgery fellowship. In addition to medical and surgical training, Chirag trains his fellows and residents how to financially plan and invest. He has earned numerous awards, including the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Senior Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Society, and the Ron Michels Award. He has published over 70 papers and book chapters, and speaks regularly at national and international conferences. An avid marathoner, Chirag enjoys a variety of sports with his active family, and coaches his kids’ soccer teams.

Jayanth Sridhar MD is the creator and host of “Straight From The Cutter’s Mouth”, a popular podcast for retinal surgeons that has earned accolades from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the International Medical Education Conference. He is a Section Editor of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Online News and Education Network, a site that 110,000 ophthalmologists and other health care providers access every month. He is an associate professor at the University of Miami and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, ranked #1 in the United States for over a decade. He has published over 120 papers and book chapters and has earned numerous awards, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology Secretariat Honor, the Senior Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists, and induction into the prestigious Retina Society. He is well-known as a speaker nationally and internationally on the topics of medical education improvement within the field of retinal surgery. In his spare time, Jay is an avid basketball fan and teaches his residents and fellows about life, approaching retinal disease, and financial planning.
